Mechanical Fixings for Tissue-Faced Insulation Boards - Sold Per Fixing
These warm deck insulation fixings are designed for mechanically securing tissue-faced PIR insulation boards in flat roof warm deck constructions.
Each fixing includes:
- 1 x 95mm steel screw
- 1 x insulation tube (105mm or 135mm)
The plastic insulation tube creates a thermally broken fixing, reducing cold bridging through the roof build-up compared to standard steel fixings.
Suitable for use when mechanically fixing insulation through cover boards and into timber or suitable structural decks.

Why Use Thermally Broken Fixings? ▸
Standard steel fixings do create thermal bridges through the insulation layer. On smaller domestic roofs, the impact is usually minor.
However, on larger commercial roofs - or where thicker insulation build-ups are used - the number of fixings increases significantly. Over a wide area, that cumulative bridging can start to affect overall thermal performance.
These fixings use a plastic tube sleeve to:
- Reduce direct metal contact through the insulation
- Help maintain calculated U-values on larger projects
- Support compliance where thermal performance is critical
You still get the security of mechanical fixing, with reduced thermal impact across the roof area.

Build-up thickness refers to insulation thickness plus 18mm cover board and 18mm deck board.
Roofer’s Perspective ▸
If you’re mechanically fixing a thicker, or commercial-sized warm roof, you don’t want to undo your insulation performance with standard metal fixings. These give you a secure anchor while helping control cold bridging.
