Wide Uncured EPDM Flashing Tape for Complex Roof Details - Sold per Linear Metre
ClassicBond 12″ Elastoform (305mm) Uncured EPDM Flashing is a pressure-sensitive, formable EPDM flashing tape designed for larger and more demanding detailing on EPDM rubber roofing systems.
With increased width compared to the 9″ version, it provides additional coverage for higher upstands, larger penetrations and wide membrane cuts, ensuring proper overlap and long-term waterproofing.
When to Use 12″ Instead of 9″ Elastoform ▸
While 9″ uncured flashing is suitable for most standard detailing, the 12″ version is recommended when:
- Upstands exceed standard height
- Larger pipe penetrations are present
- Internal or external corners require extra coverage
- Drain detailing requires wider bonding area
- Repairs involve larger damaged sections
- Additional overlap is required for specification compliance
The added width ensures adequate coverage over membrane cuts and weak spots, reducing stress points and improving durability.
Installation Overview ▸
- Ensure membrane is clean and dry
- Apply ClassicBond EPDM Primer to the bonding area
- Allow primer to become touch dry
- Position the flashing smooth side down
- Apply firm hand pressure
- Roll thoroughly using a 50mm steel roller
Primer must always be used for correct adhesion. Lap Sealant should be used as a secondary seal to exposed edges of uncured tape.
In colder conditions, warming the primed area may assist bonding.
A Roofer’s Perspective ▸
When in doubt, go wider.
The 12″ Elastoform gives you more coverage, more forgiveness and better stress distribution on larger details. It’s the right choice when the 9″ width simply doesn’t provide enough overlap.
For bigger detailing work, the wider flashing is the safer option.
