100mm × 100mm × 500mm Through-Wall EPDM Roof Outlet (Leaf Grate Included)
The ClassicBond Angled Roof Drain is a heavy-duty through-wall roof outlet designed to safely drain flat EPDM rubber roofs through parapet walls into hoppers, gutters or external drainage systems.
This outlet is used where water cannot drain vertically through the deck and must exit horizontally through a wall - forming one of the most critical waterproofing details on any flat roof.
Supplied with a leaf grate, this listing includes the drain outlet only. Flashing tape and primer must be purchased separately. Angled 90° connectors are available separately.
Why Angled Roof Drains Are Critical ▸
Through-wall drains (also known as scupper drains or horizontal outlets) are high-risk detailing points. If poorly installed, they can cause:
- Water backing up behind the outlet
- Leaks at the membrane-to-flange junction
- Structural moisture damage inside walls
- Long-term failure of the roof build-up
Using a purpose-designed angled EPDM roof drain significantly reduces these risks when detailed correctly.
Product Construction & Key Features ▸
The ClassicBond 90° Angled Roof Drain is manufactured from IGOM synthetic rubber and features:
- 90° angled outlet for horizontal discharge
- 100mm × 100mm internal outlet size
- 500mm outlet length, suitable for thicker external walls
- Large bonding flange (140mm × 245mm)
- Compatible with 90° shoes and extension pipes
- Supplied with a removable leaf guard
The flexible EPDM-compatible flange ensures reliable adhesion to EPDM membranes when primed and flashed correctly.
Where This Angled Roof Drain Is Used ▸
Ideal for:
- Parapet wall drainage
- Commercial flat roofs
- Podium decks
- Balcony roofs
- Box gutters discharging through walls
- Retrofit or refurbishment projects
Suitable for use with:
- ClassicBond EPDM
- ClassicBond Pro Fleece Reinforced EPDM
- Other compatible EPDM membranes
Installation Overview (ClassicBond EPDM & ClassicBond Pro) ▸
- Mechanically fix the drain securely into the roof deck
- Leave a 50–75mm bonding area on the flange
- Install EPDM membrane over the roof
- Cut membrane to expose the outlet flange
- Prime the membrane and flange
- Install uncured EPDM flashing over the flange
- Roll thoroughly to ensure full adhesion
- Insert leaf guard
Proper flashing detail is essential to prevent water ingress.
A Roofer’s Perspective ▸
Horizontal outlets are unforgiving details. If the membrane isn’t properly sealed to the flange, water will always find its way back in.
Using a purpose-made 90° roof drain and detailing it with uncured flashing tape or the recommended detailing materials for your chosen system is the correct approach. Once installed properly, it becomes a secure, long-term drainage solution.
