UV-Resistant GRP Top Coat for Fibreglass Flat Roofs
GRP Roof 1010 Top Coat is the final waterproofing layer within the Restec GRPROOF 1010 fibreglass roofing system. Applied directly over the reinforced Base Coat laminate, it provides the colour, UV resistance and long-term weather protection of the roof.
Supplied pre-pigmented in Dark Admiralty Grey, this is the protective outer layer that seals the laminate and delivers the finished appearance.
Available in 10kg and 20kg tins.
Restec GRP Roof 1010 Catalyst must be used with this product.
Recommended for use by professional installers and must be used as part of the full GRP 1010 system.
What It’s Used For ▸
- Sealing and protecting the cured GRP 1010 Base Coat laminate
- Providing UV resistance to the fibreglass roof
- Delivering the final waterproof finish
- Flat roof replacements and new build GRP installations
- Domestic and commercial flat roofs
The Top Coat must only be applied to a fully cured and correctly prepared Base Coat layer.
Why the Top Coat Matters ▸
The base laminate provides the structural strength.
The Top Coat provides:
- UV protection
- Weather resistance
- Surface durability
- Final colour and finish
Without a properly applied Top Coat, the laminate will not achieve long-term performance.
GRP 1010 Top Coat is made with a tough, weather-resistant resin that helps prevent cracking and extends the life of the roof.
It cures to a hard, sealed finish that protects the reinforced laminate beneath.
Application Overview ▸
- Ensure the Base Coat is fully cured and dry.
- Lightly abrade and acetone wipe before application.
- Stir thoroughly before decanting.
- Catalyse between 1% and 3% depending on deck temperature.
- Apply evenly by roller at the specified coverage rate.
Application temperature range: 5°C to 30°C
Coverage Rates ▸
Recommended application rate:
0.66 kg per m²
Approximate coverage:
- 10kg tin: up to 15m²
- 20kg tin: up to 30m²
Allow an additional 10% for wastage during application.
Do not over-apply or under-apply - correct coverage is essential to system performance.

Roofer’s Perspective ▸
