GRP laminates are rigid once cured. On larger roofs, provision for movement is essential.

Without expansion provision, movement within the deck can transfer directly into the laminate, leading to stress fractures over time.

The E280 trim:

• Introduces a controlled expansion joint
• Reduces stress build-up within the laminate

It forms part of the structural detailing on larger installations.

• Leave a 25mm expansion gap between OSB boards.
• Apply PU trim adhesive to the underside before fixing.
• Position the E280 centrally over the gap.
• Mechanically fix into the deck either side of the joint.
• Reinforce the trim-to-deck joint either side of the trim using CSM and base resin.
• Consolidate fully and apply top coat as part of the system.

The expansion gap beneath the trim allows deck movement while the laminate above remains controlled.
